History
Christ Church established at this place in 1926. In 1954 a hall room built beside the Church. Meanwhile an association formed as Christ Church Women Auxiliary (CCWA) by the European wives in Chittagong. This association collected to build the hall room. They direct many activities there. Later on CCWA started a Kindergarten School “The Play Center” for the baby of foreigner who lived in Chittagong in this hall room. It was probably 1965. Only a teacher worked there. In 1971 during liberation war all the foreigner left Bangladesh for their security. Later on in 1972/3 the school reopened with two classes in Bangla Medium. From that period a school committee ……….
I went to 'play centre' in 1966.The place was lush green, with the building hidden in huge trees.My teacher was a Ms Malkani.On an adjacent hilltop lived my classmates Andrew and Timothy whose mother was Topsee ; as my mom used to call her.It was the most beautiful and scenic environment.We lived at a two min walking distance from this church in Qasim Mansion.Oh....what nostalgia !
ReplyDeleteParsonage my school...started in 1968 when I was 2 and a half years old...I remember each n every nook n corner of this school...my school my first love...the above post is of elder sister who also went to parsonage.
